The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), the global body designated to assess the science related to climate change, came out with its 1.5°C Special Report. It highlights a number of impacts that could be avoided by limiting global warming to 1.5°C compared to 2°C or more, and stresses the need for rapid, far-reaching and unprecedented changes in all aspects of society.
