Zero Waste Month 2019 Protest Against Incineration

Greetings!

No Burn Pilipinas is an alliance of civil society groups who are advocating Zero Waste technologies and are calling on the government to uphold the ban on waste incineration.

The vision of No Burn Pilipinas is a Philippines free of waste incineration and pursuing the Zero Waste approach, and where the linear economy has been replaced by a sustainable and just circular model. The vision ensures that the health and well-being of communities are safeguarded and the environment is well protected.

In view of this, NO BURN Pilipinas, together with EcoWaste Coalition and Green Convergence  will be celebrating ZERO WASTE month this coming January 29, 2019 and part of the celebration is the conduct of  mobilization or protest action on the issue of Waste to Energy Incineration. The said activity aims to create awareness and send the message to our legislators, policymakers that Waste to Energy is not the solution to our garbage problem and instead pursue ZERO Waste approach. The said event will be participated by NGOs, CSOs, People Organizations and other environmental advocates.

With this, we would like to invite everyone to join us in this call to action for a more cleaner and safer environment for the next generation to come. The protest action or marching rally will start at 9:30 am in front of Philippine Heart Center and will end up at Quezon City Circle by 12 noon.
